On May 18th, 2023, Art Depot was proud to award the third annual Amber Reyes and Mollie Haught memorial scholarships to three outstanding students in Greenlee County.
The Amber Reyes Fine Art Scholarship, which honors Amber Reyes-a beloved friend, community member, mother, wife, and artist, was awarded to Cecilia Madrid for her clarinet performance.
The Mollie Haught Culinary Arts Scholarship, which honors the beloved Greenlee County educator, Mollie Haught, was awarded to Ms. Ivana Cano for a mouthwatering traditional Mexican dish, and Ms. Ariel Harrington who served a delicious cookies and cream cake roll.
Presentations were held at the Duncan Public Library to a panel of three judges, each members of the Art Depot Council Board.
Each scholarship recipient was awarded their $500 scholarship at each awardee’s high school award ceremony.
Altogether, Art Depot awarded $1,500 in scholarships this year and looks forward to continue this tradition in supporting the talents and futures of Greenlee County’s talented students.
