Come in contact with ancient culture and civilization.
Escape to Egypt art exhibit was conceived from my desire to share my experience of
traveling to Egypt. The entire trip was surreal. Several times, I had to ask my husband,
Steve to pinch me to make sure I wasn’t dreaming. One such occasion was when we
were floating down the River Nile. It was overwhelmingly beautiful, and when some
children ran along the river bank to wave hello to us, it brought tears to my eyes. I
imaged the Egyptian children had done this same act of kindness from time
immemorial.
This art exhibit features my photographs, Egyptian artists replications of hieroglyphics,
and original painting from Dr. Eyad Al Masri, an Archaeologist and professor of Ancient
Art. His painting have a profound primordial influences. Embellishing Dr. Eyad’s unique
style are strong cultural images of Ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics. The colorful eye-catching images are scaled down to basic forms. These images are abstract and
sophisticated while, at the same time being childlike. Dr. Eyad’s painting can to traced
back to the basic Egyptian art forms.
